Domain transfer

Domain name transfers is the act of designating a new registrar of a domain. The transfer process may take about five days. After transfer, the domain cannot be transferred again for 60 days, except back to the previous registrar.

To transfer, you need the EPP key (Authorization code), one of the safeguards against unauthorized transfers of domain name registrations. The EPP key is required when transferring .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info and .us domain names.  The EPP codes are case sensitive.

It is not recommended to attempt to transfer a domain immediately before it expires. Because a transfer can in take up to 14 days, the transfer may not complete before the registration expires. This can result loss of the domain name and failure of the transfer. To avoid this, either transfer a month before the expiration date, or renew the registration before transfer the domain.
