Here, we want to learn on doing SEO on a website. For example, we want optimize the keyword “stock pick” on www.stockpickguide.com. Check the website, and see their source code. Here are things you can learn:

They use the keyword “stock pick” in the domain name
The title “Stock Pick Guide - stock investing tips for you” contains the keyword
The meta content, and meta description contains the keyword
You can see that the website has several “stock pick” keyword. Do not put too much keyword, because google can consider it as spam.
It has tag H1 for the keyword
It has backlink from other website using the title tag with targeted keyword
